Phyllis F Agran., MD, MPH

Dr. Agran is Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Child Injury and Traffic Safety Research Group @ the Center for Health Policy and Research, University of California, Irvine. She is a Fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Agran's activities in the American Academy of Pediatrics include service on the national Committee Injury, Violence and Poison Prevention (COIVPP), the Injury Section Executive Committee and Co-Executive Director of AAP California Chapter 4, Injury Prevention Program.

She is a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine.

Dr. Agran chaired the Injury Prevention Research Grant Review Committee of the CDC National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. Dr. Agran is a reviewer for a number of scientific journals including Pediatrics, Accident Analysis and Prevention, Journal of the American Medical Association, American Journal of Public Health and Injury Prevention. Dr. Agran’s research focus has been on the epidemiology and prevention of injuries. Research data has been used to inform on public policies aimed at preventing injuries.
